§ 154.040. USES PERMITTED AND SPECIFIED.

  • (A) Uses permitted and specified for the residential district.
    (B) (1) Automobile service uses, excepting those involving body repair and painting but including filling station, public garage, tire repair shop, public parking lot, automobile or trailer sales area, provided that all repair work, including tire repair, shall be carried on within enclosed buildings;
    (2) Business services uses, including banks, offices and postal stations;
    (3) Clothing service uses, including dry cleaning and pressing not employing more than four persons on any one shift, except those using a cleaning fluid having a petroleum base, laundry agencies, self-service laundries, dress-making, milliners, tailor shops and shoe repair shops;
    (4) Equipment service uses, including radio shops, electric appliance shops and record shop;
    (5) Food services uses, including groceries, meat markets, supermarkets, restaurants, delicatessens, roadside sale stands and bakeries not employing more than four persons on any one shift;
    (6) Personal services uses, including barber shops, beauty shops and photographic shops;
    (7) Retail service uses, including drug- stores, newsdealers, retail stores, show rooms, flower shops and greenhouses not over 1,000 square feet;
    (8) Commercial recreational uses, including theaters (but not drive-in theaters), bowling alleys, skating rinks, billiard rooms, dancing academies; provided that the uses shall be conducted within buildings so constructed that no noise of any kind produced therein, shall be audible beyond the confines of the building;
    (9) Signs or billboards;
    (10) Hotels or motels;
    (11) Private clubs or lodges; and
    (12) Accessory buildings or uses customarily incident to the above uses.
    (C) Any building used primarily for any of the above purposes may not have more than 40% of its floor area devoted to industrial or storage purposes incidental to the primary use, and provided that not more than five persons are employed at one time or on any one shift in connection with any the incidental use.
